What facilities does the centre provide for disabled customers?
The Village has a specially built toilet block for the disabled. HOTC also provide two dedicated parking spaces for the disabled. As well, the delivery bays are dedicated exclusively to parking for the disabled at weekends. These spaces are regularly policed to ensure only badge holders use them. The restaurants both have good access for the disabled.
Where possible, permanent wheelchair ramps have been provided for all facilities; where this is not feasible, there are temporary ramps for each doorway. All businesses are trained to assist in placing these ramps. The enclosed, safe environment of the Village is regularly used by groups from local special schools and the new owners of the Creperie are considering providing menus in Braille.
What special events occur throughout the year?
The centre has various special celebrations during the seasonal months of the year including mince pies and mulled wine evenings during Christmas and Easter egg hunts and donkey rides for children. Individual shops also hold their own events including the Allen Brown Gallery jewellery exhibitions and visiting artists at Heart Galleries.
There are also special product launches
and festive seasonal parties throughout the year. Please follow the link in the right hand news board to join the HOTC mailing list and be notified of all up and coming events.
What additional activities may customers utilise on visiting Heart of the Country Shopping Village?
The Village is currently constructing a (third) courtyard, which includes seating areas, shade trees and flowering plants for customers to enjoy at their leisure and the surrounding trees have been decorated with attractive lighting. There is also a ‘Woodland Walk" off the car park with a useful picnic area. Alternatively the restaurants have installed new outdoor tables for customers to enjoy alfresco dining in the beautiful, tranquil surroundings.
What are the parking facilities?
HOTC Shopping Village has a very large car park which always provides ample parking even at the busiest times of the year. There are dedicated disabled spaces for those who require them and once darkness falls the area is well lit with a good security system. |
